Class Outline:

This colourful twist on our standard intro class lets you explore the pottery wheel using a curated selection of coloured clays, including blue, green, pink and yellow clay. No prior experience is needed - just come ready to play with colour and learn something new.

Under the expert guidance of experienced tutor Nadia, you'll be introduced to the fundamentals of wheel-throwing. Special focus will be given to using coloured clays to create beautiful marbled effects or bold block-colour designs.

The session begins with preparing your clay colours (marbling, stacking, or colour flecks!), followed by hands-on instruction in shaping small pieces on the wheel, such as cylinders, bowls, or even a bud vase.

At the end of the session, you’ll select your favourite three creations to be fired and finished.

With just six participants per session, this small-group workshop offers hands-on guidance in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Whether you're coming solo or with company, it's a refreshing way to try something creative and unwind.

After the workshop, your work will be cleaned, clear gloss glazed, and fired to highlight the natural vibrancy of the clay. Pieces will be ready for collection in 3 to 4 weeks. All materials, glazing, and firing are included in the workshop fee.
