Wheelchair Access:

Our workshop spaces are currently not wheelchair accessible as they are on the first floor of an old warehouse building. We would like to be wheelchair accessible in the near future and this is something we will continue to push for. If you are looking for a wheelchair accessible venue, we recommend our sister studio for pottery painting, which is located on the ground floor.

We have a large car-park just opposite our studio along with on street parking, both of which are usually very quiet Sunday-Thursday. Please be aware that there are no blue badge parking spaces on our street that we know of.

Age Requirements:

We have an array of class options for various ages. The majority of our introductory classes begin at ages 14+, however you can find options for children within our scheduling system under ‘Classes for Kids’. Our pottery wheel experiences start at age 8+, the reason for this being that using the pottery wheel can be strenuous on your body and little ones haven’t developed the necessary muscles yet! Our Hand-Building options start at ages 6+.

Our Hand-Building group classes are advertised as BYOB and we welcome adults to bring their own drinks and refreshments (you must be 18+ to do so). For this reason, we advise that these sessions cater to an adult audience and they aren’t as suitable for young adults below the age of 18. Should you wish to attend a session that people won’t be consuming alcohol please get in touch! We have alternative group options.

Sensory Difficulties:

We aim to provide a calm, relaxing environment for people to learn. Having said this, there are times during the week such as Thursday, Friday and Saturday where our studio can be busier than usual. Should you wish to book a quieter time with minimal noise and footfall, please get in touch and we can point you in the right direction!

Clay can have a strange feel on your hands (very squishy when wet and chalky when dry). If you struggle with these textures we recommend bringing a pair of surgical gloves that suit you to your lesson.

Creating pottery is messy business, especially if you opt for a wheel class. We understand that not everyone enjoys being mucky! We provide canvas aprons in our studio for every class attendee and should you wish to use one, we have staff overalls that cover you entirely, you can let us know if you would prefer one. Clay does not stain clothes, it turns to chalky dust and then washes out in a regular wash cycle.

Other:

We advise that use of the pottery wheel can be uncomfortable for long durations and we urge customers to have a stretch now and again during their lesson. You will be sat on a stool leant over a wheel for 1.5+hrs. Should you suffer from muscular or nerve pain, please let us know.

Clay can be an irritant for those with skin sensitivities such as eczema and psoriasis. We would suggest wearing a pair of suitable gloves of your choosing to your lesson. We also have moisturiser available for customer use by the till after your session has ended.

Should you be booking for yourself or a loved one that has requirements related to a disability, please get in touch with us via email and we can answer any questions you may have!
