Studio Story
Established in 2021, The Craft Pottery Studio is an independent ceramics and pottery teaching studio located in the heart of Glasgow city centre. Our creative space is dedicated to helping people discover the joy of working with clay through a wide range of pottery classes, workshops, courses, events, and studio rental opportunities.
Every session is guided by our resident team of experienced potters and ceramic artists. Each tutor brings their own unique background to the studio—from traditional wheel throwing techniques to contemporary hand-building and glaze chemistry. Together, they share a common mission: to make learning pottery accessible, achievable, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone.
Pottery for Beginners and Experienced Makers
Whether you’re a complete beginner curious about pottery or an intermediate ceramicist looking to develop your skills, The Craft Pottery Studio provides a welcoming environment where creativity can thrive. Our classes are designed to help you build confidence with clay, learn new techniques, and connect with a community of makers.
We’re constantly introducing new pottery workshops, courses, and creative events, so there’s always something fresh to explore.
A Creative Studio in a Historic Warehouse
Our studio occupies the first floor of a characterful warehouse building in Glasgow, surrounded by a vibrant community of artists, makers, and small independent businesses. Within the space you’ll find three fully working pottery studios, providing the perfect setting for learning, experimenting, and creating.
The atmosphere is relaxed, inspiring, and collaborative—exactly the kind of place where creativity flourishes.
Part of The Craft Pottery Family
The Craft Pottery Studio is the younger sister to our much-lovedThe Craft Pottery (est 2015), a popular paint-your-own pottery shop. While The Craft Pottery focuses on pottery painting experiences, our studio is where you can learn to create your own ceramic pieces from scratch.
If you love painting pottery, be sure to visit our sister shop for a creative day out.
