Class Outline:

Spend an evening getting creative with clay and make your own collection of handmade Christmas decorations. Over two hours, you’ll be shown how to shape, texture and decorate clay to create ornaments, trinkets and festive keepsakes — no previous pottery experience needed.

You’ll have the chance to make a variety of pieces, from traditional tree decorations and hanging ornaments to little festive dishes, charms and decorations. Experiment with different shapes and textures using stamps, carving tools and other mark-making techniques, or keep things simple with your own designs and ideas.

Once your pieces have been made, it’s time to add some colour. Choose from a selection of coloured underglazes to paint, pattern and personalise your decorations, creating anything from classic Christmas colours to something a little more unique.

Your finished pieces will be coated in a clear gloss glaze and fired in our kiln, ready to become part of your Christmas collection. Pieces will be available to collect approximately three weeks after the workshop.

A chance to slow down, get your hands messy and make something special for the tree — or to give as a handmade Christmas gift.
