Class Outline:
Join Giulia for a relaxed evening of hand-building, surface decoration and summer making in this playful pinch pot workshop. Beginning with x2 500g balls of white stoneware clay, you’ll first press coloured clay into the surface to create abstract motifs and playful patterns such as swirls, dots and stars.
Afterwards, you’ll learn traditional pinch pot techniques to slowly shape and expand the form by hand, allowing the embedded patterns to stretch and transform as the clay grows into a unique ceramic vessel. The process creates organic surface movement and completely one-off results, with each piece developing its own character as it’s formed.
This class is all about slowing down, experimenting and enjoying the process, perfect for beginners and returning makers alike, the workshop offers a relaxed studio atmosphere with plenty of guidance throughout. Feel free to bring a bottle along and settle into a creative Friday evening in the studio.
Your finished work will be glazed clear to show the patterned clay and fired ready for collection 3-4 weeks after workshop.
Whats Included:
All materials, including clay, tools, and a glaze coating.
An apron.
Expert guidance from experienced tutors.
Firing of your completed pieces ( up to x2 works).
